Premises safety for care, health and education settings
We look after the safety checks, so you can look after the people in your care.
IVARRA carries out your water safety (Legionella), fire and equipment checks in person, on a regular schedule, and keeps every result on record, ready whenever you are asked for it.
- In person, on schedule
- Every result recorded
- Ready for inspection
Why we do it
Care comes first. That is exactly as it should be.
Your team is there for the people in your care, whether residents, patients or children. Water temperatures, alarm tests and fire doors matter too, but on a busy day they rightly wait their turn. We make sure they are never missed or forgotten.
Your team stays focused on care
We carry out the checks, so your staff and managers spend their time where it matters.
Every check, on time
Each check happens on its schedule, whatever kind of week you are having.
Proof always to hand
Every result is dated and kept, so you can show what was checked, when, and what was done about anything found.
The rules behind it
Whoever inspects you, and health and safety law itself, expect premises and equipment to be kept safe and in good repair, with records that show the checks were done.
What we check
The checks that keep your premises safe, done in person.
An engineer attends, carries out each test, and records the result there and then. Every setting is different, so we agree the checks you need, based on your premises and the people you care for.

Specialist servicing, kept on track
Some work has to be done by a specialist: gas safety checks by a Gas Safe engineer, fixed electrical testing, fire alarm, emergency lighting and extinguisher servicing, hoist examinations, and water tank and cylinder inspections. We keep track of when each is due and make sure it happens on time, either by arranging it or by working with your existing contractors.

Notes and sources
- The fire guide says its examples are not prescriptive, and HSE says your risk assessment sets the frequency. Care homes are named as high risk for water, so some checks may need to be more often.
- Hot water at sentinel outlets should reach at least 50 °C within one minute (55 °C in healthcare premises). Cold water should be below 20 °C within two minutes.
- HSE says records of monitoring, inspections, tests and checks should be kept for at least five years.
- Sources: Fire safety risk assessment: residential care premises (Home Office); HSE hot and cold water guidance and HSG274 Part 2; LOLER 1998, regulation 9; IET Guidance Note 3 (electrical inspection intervals). A plain-English summary, November 2026. Not legal advice.
